I have a lvl 9 ranger in pre right now. I just love it there. Always have. This sounds corny, but I love the music, love the scenery. I love the area in Wizard's Folly where it's raining and up in the mountains where it's snowing. It's just a gorgeous place and very laid back. It's just great ambiance that I can find duplicated no where else, not even in any of the other GW games.

I'm not in a hurry to leave. I'm usually helping people for free. People pay 50g for a gate monkey, but I'll do it for nothing. I help people get their rez signet. Everyone starts at the beginning and will have questions and I hate to see them mocked. Not everyone starts out knowing about GuildWiki or Guild Wars Guru or any of the other websites.

I have another character (Falynn Firestorm actually) that's completed Prophecies (and a few near completion in NF) and actually she's not much fun to play. Maybe in some ways. I like going out with my guild for elite areas, but then again, I'm with a bunch of people I know and not with the general, and usually jerky, game population.

So there are some of us who are very happy hanging out in Pre. And also, you have to admit post-searing Ascalon is depressing and ugly. So why go there?

-Falynn aka Banner Woodsprite, the ranger that's happy in pre.

Mini Charr in Pre.. Sweet thing. Does it confuse the Charr in the northlands when they see one of their own has been captured and brain washed into following "the others". Not to mentions shrunken?

imnotyourmother, thanks for the Sword Hilts and stuff in Post last night (on my Aliea character)! Now I'll either need to bring my Ranger from Pre to Post, or buy slots or another account to have a Ranger to use that nice gold bow you gave me.

I had not been playing much with my pre-Ranger recently and this thread motivated me to start again. The graphics and music are just so enjoyable in pre-searing, it is like going home again; even though I have only been playing GW since the middle of May.

Thanks. This is another Great reason to play in PRE. The People are fantastic. That bow I gave you is OLD CITY. There are no golds better than it. I had a ranger/mes as my first toon that I ever made and I paid a lot of gold for that thing a long time ago. I love the skin since it is only found at the end of proph.

Your welcome for the rest of the stuff. I deleted that toon and made a second war for pre. I have a 11-15 Dmg sword with sundering 20/18 and Charrslaying 17% that I want to somehow transfer from my monk to my new war. That sword is worth a bit of gold in pre. It has the dmg +14% while enchanted. I figured that if I use Ret as the enchantment for the war that i could do some massive dmg at lvl 16 againt tthe charr. The healing breeze I can not get but oh well. I will try it first before I make the monk as my secondary.

Sure look me up in pre sometime. I am there almost every night grinding away on charr or gathering ales. I want 40 stacks. It is doable and I love the grind. Just my style I guess. 2 man ale runs is the fastest.

This is what pre is about. Helping others. See I bet you I mad a friend. What do I want in return? nothing. can you say that for post? Nope. You cannot.

I have made many characters in pre-searing it has always been fun to do with a friend and there does seem to be a more relaxed feeling about playing there, i have a couple of 1yr old characters there in fact but none who have got over level 16.

Although i may work on that one time when i can spare a few thousand hours :P

None above LV 16? We can FIX that soon enough! If you like of course. No pressure, no pressure. Free to.

I can show you how to mindlessly death lvl. Or even not so mindlessly dl.
It is the only way to go up lvls and is best done at night. Not Thursdays or Sundays though. Might get the disconnect thing and that is bad, very bad.

I have done a couple of death leveling sessions but it was not for me although i really do fancy going up to level 20 at some point on a pre-searing character, i suppose half hour or so setting up a decent group of char and leaving it all night would not take up much time and i could have a level 20 in no time

I do have multiple accounts too so it would be easy to setup and level them a little faster using 2 characters at a time

Two Accounts! Now that is Cheating, NOT. Good thinking. That way you got twice the fire power to kill them to. You can drag 5 groups of charr to the sre shrine once you get strong enough. Man it is hard though but doable. Kill the shaman,s

Wow,I remember when I 1st time take a step in a gw world. When I 1st time left Ascalon, when I for 1st time saw 3-4 mosters that looked very dangerous,I was so exited. Then I got quest that I need kill them, omg,I was afraid to attack them, group of monsters and I am the only 1,I am elementalist.
That I will never forget.
That is what I miss.
I never stayed to long in Pre,I think my "record" is 1 month.
I always left because I was, well,I was new to GW world, and I wanted to try EVERY profession, get them to lev 20,I didn't knew about Guildwiki or Guildwars,I was alone.
Alone in a big world.You wouldn't believe,but actually,I played for 18 months before I heard about websites.
I never searched for any of them.
until Faction release, until I started pvp.
After 18 months I realised that my Warrior/Monk with Healing Breeze,Mending and Healing Hands AND Balthazar's Spirit is marked as a NOOB build and player playing it is NOOB.
What is noob I asked? I needed to figure it myself,no1 told me,but it's not hard to understand.
But it hurted my feelings when I heard it.
How my GREAT W/Mo who can SOLO Villainy of Galrath, who made it solo when he was only lev 17 (lev 17!!!) because all others were dead. I solo last group. I done it without Healing Hands, without Max armor, with a Fiery Dragon Sword. How he can be called NOOB?!
I was really sad then. But then,I said to myself,I will help ANY1 who needs a help with that quest.
I mean,at that time,it was a quest that GAVE 4k EXP POINTS,that was 1 of the best reward in a game at that time, when only prop was out!
People were dieing, even when they were lev 20. Do you remember that,do you?

I am saying this,because at that time,when I heard about that websites,when I started PvP,game changed a bit.
it was ok for some time,I become "better" player,my warrior was Shock Axe at that time, and I played wikibuild for pve.I never done that quest solo again with wiki and all pro builds ppl are saying. I did it only with my W/Mo build.

Then Nightfall was released, and that was the end of a time I once knew.Heroes. Heroes. Monk heroes.MM,SS,nuker.
Heroes replaced real ppl. Henchs were always here to help you,but they can't do what Heroes can do.
After a month,I made my monk,Prop. I left Pre,and step in a world I didn't knew. A world with a bad ppl,a world that was empty, exept "elite" areas were is "marketing".
I couldn't believe that it was so hard to find some1 to play mission with.I was so sad. My monk healed Henchs and later Heroes.
My monk. She didn't liked it. She didn't smiled when some1 aggroed big group and died, because there was no1. And she would smile.
She would use Res,and told to that person she needs him, because she can't do that mission alone. And that person would smiled back and said,I am your bodyguard,ok? Just heal me,I will get that bastards for you.

then, again, something that happened to me 3 days ago.
I was on my assassin,I got 15k armor (Ancient and Mask of the Mo Zing, all dyed black). I was running a Wounding Strike critical scythe, with some nice pve skills. Really, great damage,self-removing conditions, block, healing+added armor, great IAS (critical agilitty).
I was the KING of an Assassin.
and then,I came in Arborstone, after I finished,Prop,Factions,Nightfall and EoTN with him. I wanted to help others,I was bored, wanted to play with real ppl.
There was a group of 6 ppl. I wanted to join them. They said they don't want assassin, then I said, but I am here to help, I see you have necro,ele,warrior,2monks and rt. You need another melee who will do dmg and nice dps for you.
They laughed at me. They said, but you ARE the ASSASSIN,go away, you can't help us! Go to pvp and be owned by mesmer!
Then again,I told them they are 6,they have 2 more spaces left.
They told me,oh! I will just bring Mesmer and Ranger hero and we are ok to go.They done it and left.Heroes replaced real player.

I know I didn't told you about Pre,I was talking you about Post.
But I think you now know what is Pre and what is Post.
Post is nice and all,big new world, but sad world.
Pre is nice and all, small world, but happy and relaxing world.
And there is NEVER dark!!! and will NEVER be!

That brought a HUGE tear to my eyes. My gut wrenched and my fists were clenched. Like you to there have been many times that I could not get into groups as a Smiting Monk in Post. Who wants smiting? Why when you can do everything with just 2 players. Where is the Multi Player in that. They just don't need us, they do not care for us. They are not family.

Not like pre. In pre the newbies are newbies and they need our help. There are cries for help and we, the few the strong, the Ascalonians are there to help. We build a spirit of unity and friendship. It is the glue of fighting side my side that binds us together. United WE STAND! And UNITED WE WILL BE!

Let that be our battle CRY! Let others sit up and take notice of the GLORY that AWAITS them as a LVL 20 in presearing. Let us not eat snake but rather EAT CHARR!! CHarr Broiled with the Flames of Passion!

Long Live THE GUILD!!! Long Live PRE!!!
